Our house shampoo
is a professional grade, all-purpose shampoo with an emollient and humectant formula
designed for everyday use on a wide variety of coats. Though effective, it does not
have ingredients for any specialized purpose. You may upgrade to any of our special shampoos designed to
enhance appearance, well being, or to treat a specific health condition. Learn

Express Anal
Glands
Though disgusting
for many pet owners, we clean and drain the anal glands to help ensure they do not
become impacted or, even worse, infected. Learn more about anal

Blow Drying
Dog Day Afternoon Spa
uses two types of dryers depending upon your dog's coat type. For most dogs we use a
forced-air, room-temperature dryer to gently and safely dry your pet. We have had these
dryers especially designed for the safety of your pet by removing the heating element.
Heated dryers have been proven to be deadly when a dog becomes overheated, especially
for brachycephalic (flat-nose) dogs. The second type is a hand-held dryer with
forced heated air, which is under the control of the user at all times thus eliminating
any potential danger. The heat is necessary for coats of poodles, bichons, and similar
type dogs when hair needs to be straightened with heat.
Brushing
We gently brush out coats to distribute oils
(and other topical applications that may have been used) from the skin throughout the
coat and remove tangles and lose hair.
Sani Trim (only with haircut)
We carefully trim near the private and sensitive
areas to keep pets fresh. This creates what we call a clean "potty
path."
Paw Trim (only with haircut)
Except for style dictates or customer
preferences, we trim hair from the paw pads creating a more sanitary condition that
helps to eliminate dirt and debris from being tracked into your home. This also
allows air to flow around your pet's paw pads, which is an important way dogs regulate
their body temperatures.
Nail
Trim
Your pet's nails
are safely trimmed. If a dog's nails are not maintained with regular cuts, the "quick,"
or inside nerve, will grow as well. Long nails cannot be cut too short without cutting
the vein that causes bleeding. Regular grooming ensures that nails are kept short
and manageable.
After cutting, nails have a fresh, sharp edge. See A
La Carte in left column if you want nails buffed ("dremmeled") and/or
painted. Otherwise, a short walk on a rough surface, like a sidewalk, will wear
away the sharpness.

Specially made for the natural ph balance of a
dog, our cologne helps to maintain that fresh, just-groomed, and clean coat. It
